DDec Decoder iPhone and iPad App
DDec Decoder is a universal iPad and iPhone application that connects via wifi to the DDEC ECM on an RV or Truck powered by a Detroit Diesel 8v92 or Series 60 engine, to request displays engine error codes.
The interface connection is via a specialized hardware interface called a CANpod® which is engineered by Cubic Labs Inc. The CANpod connects into the diagnostic port of the DDEC computer, and the iPad then connects via wifi into the CANpod. The application initializes the CANpod and the requests error codes from the engine ECM.
The error codes are decoded, and displayed in a human-readable form in the app. More information about the error code can be found by tapping on the blue detail exposure button.
In addition to displaying the error codes, they can be cleared from the ECM either individually, or as a whole.
The application will also email the error code results, providing the ability to keep a dated record of engine error codes.
